It takes a pinch of motivation , a handful of enthusiasm and a little bit of practice to garnish your daily routine to make it more effective , productive and self satisfying. The problem here is that we feel bad for procrastinating things and we spend more and more time feeling bad about it , doing nothing to make it better. Today in this post I am going to break down my complete 24 hour routine into steps - about what I do different time windows spacing my time out for different pieces of work in a typical day. So lets get started.
1. 7 AM -9 AM. My Morning Rituals.
Now I am not going to lie to you guys. I could not incorporate getting up early for most of my time , because I am a night owl. But the day I sensed how better , fresh and active my brain works when woke up early , I took it up as a challenge to switch to a early morning routine.
Once I wake up , I make sure that I do not reach out for my phone. I go straight to restroom ,freshen up , take bath and head to kitchen to prepare some breakfast. And yet not reach to my phone. I enjoy my breakfast quite mindfully , feeling my portions in the spoon , the sound , the smell , the warmth of my food. Believe me your body will thank you for this. Then I open my balcony door and stand for at least 5 -6 minutes , breathe in that fresh air and get some sunlight. This has become a form of meditation for me.
2. 9 AM - 11:00 AM . Work space Bound.
I work from home sometimes and I travel sometimes as a part of my job. When I work from home , I make sure I am all ready and fresh as though I am heading to my work place and not lazying around without taking bath or finishing up my breakfast. This took sometime for me to break that habit of just waking up late and reaching to the laptop , starting my work without a proper start to my morning routine. Now that I fixed it , I make sure I am at my home desk by 9:00. I make sure there are no distractions like TV or Music for the next 2 hours, I start with the toughest in my to do list and finish up in the next 2 hours. At 11:00 AM , I take a break - may be a small brisk walk with music in my ears or a visit to my balcony. I prepare my meals mostly probably the night before , If not I use this break time to prepare or pick something for me. I also use up this break time to get my Instagram posting done or any blog publishing that is scheduled to go live. I am very strict with how much time I spend on Instagram making sure I do not get carried away with swiping across all the feed and doing nothing. I typically spend 30 minutes in a day on this platform , You can set a timer for that on Instagram to restrict over usage.
3. 1 :00 PM to 5:00 PM . Second chunk of My work and a Little brain storming.
This piece after the lunch is very tricky. A little fatigue like feel visits your body and I do not resist that , A small nap at my desk on the chair for about 15 minutes gives me the boost to push through and work productively for the next few hours. I finish up the next high priority tasks during this time and I take breaks in between and research about a new thing everyday. It feels confident to stay educated and well versed about different things you are curious about. For example I love different cultures , books and art. Then switch back just as quick as possible without getting carried away. I also brain storm about various blog post ideas during this time and note them in my journal and I finalize the designs and textile work for "Pastels and Pink" label very effectively during these mid day breaks. The concept here is , you take breaks to read or browse through something that you are curious or passionate about. Well I am all passionate about my blog and Label , hence I manage these breaks perfectly to get the work done. Wind up my regular job tasks by 5:00 or 5:30 PM.
4. 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM. Evenings that matter.
If I am travelling then this time block might vary , but otherwise the common mistake that we commit here is after we are done with work , in the name of rest we go back to deep sleep. Now this is a major break in your routine , If you ask me , do not do that. You job isn't done just because your regular work hours are done. When you are done with your work and you come back home , take sometime to sit , make yourselves some tea or coffee or any drink of your choice , watch something to feel different and take the work stress off of your shoulders mindfully. Engage with your family , prepare some dinner and eat your dinner mindfully , not by watching TV. This makes a whole lot of difference to your body , Feel the food. Finish off your dinner as early as you can at your convenience.
5. 8:30 PM to 10:00 PM. Golden Hour of Conversation.
This time window is really important to me. Do not become too busy that you do not have time to spend with your loved ones. It is very very important that you strike a balance between personal and professional life. I use up this time to talk about how my day was , asking how his day was and if we have things to be scheduled or taken care of , We both take a note of that . I have started to journal my things as well. If I have a situation I talk it out and take it off my chest , So that I go clean the next day. A good conversation is a best healer and helps you stay focused. And yes after that we can call it a night.
So typically this is what my day and routine looks like. But yes , It took me so much time to get there and sometimes even now I struggle to keep up. But I do not want to be another procrastinator , be the reason for my own things not working out. I want to stand high in my eyes with all due respect for self and feel achieved. Hence I do keep up with my routine most of the times.
The idea behind this "Blog Post" was a request from one of the followers/muse on Instagram and You guys know how much I love converting your requests into blog posts.
I hope this helps &......The Chic Iconic signing off until next blog post.
First Off "Happy New Year" peeps. I hope you had an awesome 2018 and wish you will have even more amazing 2019. This year I wanted to start it all with love and relationships. The most asked about topic on my blog. "Relationship Goals". Now , I ain't guru in this topic neither am I a professional , But I am a constant learner and I apply all that I learn into my life. Nobody can be a better judge of your relationships other than you. So I was trying to be the better judge and a critic about relationship in my life. I will be talking about nurturing the relationship with potential partner - Husband/Boyfriend/Companion.
A relationship cannot survive on its own. It has to be nurtured constantly creating a mutual connection , a deep loving bond on constant basis. For that, it is very important that you do not take your partner for granted. Below are few tips that will help nurture your relationship with your partner when inculcated into your lifestyle.
1. Communicate Your Thoughts , Ideas and Feelings.
Always remember that you two are two different individuals and the other cannot decode what you are exactly feeling at this point without you communicating it or expressing it. Without a constant honest communication a relationship cannot be nurtured. The more you express or communicate the more closer you will get each time.
2. Support , Validation and Compliments.
These three components create a very strong bond between two individuals , sometimes may it be with friends. Support - emotional and mental support disposal whenever your partner needs it. Not everybody can handle stress all by themselves , they might need to vent it out. Lend your shoulder at these highly stressful times for your partner. Do not think that you should give them their space at emotional downtime , that is a hypothetical assumption. Your partner needs you at that time. Validation - When your partner does something special for you , validate it. It lifts each other up. Compliments - Who doesn't love compliments?. Compliments create a chemical reaction , they trigger the reward centers in your brain and release happy hormones especially from someone close to you.
3. Admitting Your Mistakes and Talking About Them.
In a relationship , all you need is acceptance. You should be able to accept your mistakes and your partner's mistakes. Accepting , talking about and letting go off your partner's mistakes will change or turn your relationship into a joyful one and that way you keep less baggage.
4. A Mutual Desire To Experiment.
It is quite important that this word "mutual" resonate in a relationship. You guys should be able to share a mutual desire of thinking outside the box. With the kind of brand and event commitments that I take , they interfere with our routine and we both have pledged to ourselves that we would break the routine whenever needed and go there get it full speed , get back to the routine and maintain the equilibrium. It is very important that you align your thoughts and actions with your partner's.
5. Love , Romance and Intimacy.
They are like the pillars in a relationship. There has to be a desire to be together as a couple. Do not take these things for granted. Try to keep the spark fresh every time. Love your partner with some more every time. Do not let our lifestyle or work routine saturate the bond. You need to always find ways to rekindle your relationship. Surprise each other at very least expected times.
Alright peeps , that is the content for the start of 2019. I am gearing up for more new ones . Let us all hope that 2019 will be a power packed and love filled year for you guys and for me. Thanks for reading me here.
The Chic Iconic singing off...until next post.

December , by itself feels so special to everyone. Reminds us the summation of overwhelm we went past the whole year. The success , the downfalls , work graph , productivity and how much we changed ourselves in the due course. This month is so special to me , since its my birthday month as well as anniversary month. So many tokens of love and gratitude for the wonderful people around me. Each year I strive so hard to grow as a person , keeping my happiness and self sufficiency as a main motive and try to come on par with the border line. Our lives are busy , but the question is what are we busy about?. We either have to multitask or finish one thing at a time or be proactive and not procrastinate to manage our time in a day perfectly , and give time to friends and family , but not shut them down by this word called " busy ". So here is to the busy life - I want to change somethings about me the coming year and I promised my self to do that , which might be useful for some of you who can relate. So please keep reading until the end.
1. Work At My Own Pace.
In the world where 3 Cs are ruling ( Comparison , Criticism and Complaining ) , I want to stand still working at my own pace. In the world of creativity , comparison and competition started to rule the platforms that were in fact created to just share the work , connect with each other and thoroughly enjoy the process of creating. For me , It has always been creating aesthetically beautiful content and the content creation takes good amount of time. Hence I pace myself in synchronization with the effectiveness of how much my brain can create and not how fast the rest of the world is running , perhaps I do not want to race. I want to enjoy the journey of creating and only at my own pace.
2. Recycle and Re purpose.
It took generations to make this world a better , comfortable and environmentally healthy place to live upon. Considering the current situation of global warming , it is going to take twice the number of generations to make it a happy ,healthy world to live ,again. You must be thinking , what is my part in polluting earth?. " The Consumption ". Consumption more than sufficiency. For example , the kind of industrial waste that is polluting our waters and air from the world of "fast fashion" . The self made formula of not repeating the clothes that are worn once or twice which end up in dump yards and also creating zero value for the money you spent on them. I have started to implement recycling and re-purposing all the articles and clothes I have , instead for contributing my part in making earth a massive polluted ball to live in.
3. Adapting to Minimalism.
Remembering things like "Less is More" or "Simple is Beautiful". Starting to live with less might be a drastic shift in lifestyle. I want to take this shift slow and sustainable. Minimalism can mean different to different people. For me , a lifestyle change for peace , clutter less and being intentional with what I allow into my life. I have been a shopaholic and a hoarder for new and exciting stuff. But soon I have realized the beauty of living with more of what matters and less of what doesn't. My first step towards minimalism would be creating seasonal capsule wardrobes with what all I have. I will soon start a series on capsule wardrobes.
4. Travel For Personal Development.
I have always loved to visit new places , explore new people and the kind of living . For me travelling is moving and observing - I would even travel to a close by country side village and shop in farmers markets , visit horse stables , buy some homemade jams , smells so local coffee . Travelling gives confidence . Confidence of a successful exploration , a fresh mind set and the way you see and adapt to new circumstances. I have realized travelling has helped me learn more about myself . It also made me realize how small and insignificant we are in this mighty world where there are much bigger crisis when compared to your problems. It has changed my personality and made me a self confident women who can do things her way not caring a pin about negativity and envy.
5. Write More or Create More to Connect More.
I have started this blog due to my extreme passion towards playing with words and story telling , structuring and building. So , I will write more and create more amazing content. Folks from my Instagram connect to me on a daily basis for what I have been writing and addressing . This has always motivated me to write more. For a small period of time in school I was into poetry. I am trying to revive my urge to start again. Along with that creating visually pleasing content has got me here and I am glad I have you all encouraging me everyday. I want grow old writing and creating .
Yes , You made it until the end of the blog post., pictures say less and the paragraphs say lot more about me and my work . Now , do'n't ask me my wardrobe details. I always wear my husbands over sized sweaters at home. Comfort over everything , I am sure most of you do that as well.
The Chic Iconic... Singing off until the next blog post.
How many of you have been to Las Vegas multiple times?. Well , I have been to the sin city "n" number of times. And the last time I visited , I have decided to chalk down some plan to skip the routine stuff that we do at Las Vegas. Not everybody can be a casino person or a party person right?. So in this article today I have jotted down "5 Things You Can Do in Las Vegas Other Than Casinos and Gambling.
1. UGO RONDINONE SEVEN MAGIC MOUNTAINS.
This public art installation of painted rocks which are stacked boulders are thirty feet high and makes an amazing picturesque. This was open to public from May , 2016 and was expected to be open only for two years. But due to huge demand and the incredible success of seven magic mountains , the producers have expressed the desire to keep this art work going. This is located at " S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89054 " , and of course there is little walk off the road from the parking.
2. A TRIP TO RED ROCK CANYON.
17 miles away from the strip , this canyon helps escape the hustle and bustle of the sin city. You can take SUV tours or book Hummer adventures. The bright red cliffs with a combination of grey and great characteristic in the landscape is nature's art.
3. RACE A SUPER CAR AT RICHARD PETTY.
Join a professional driver on the race a super car experience on the famous Las Vegas speedway and travel with a speed of 140 MPH. You can make you bookings and look upon deals in the following website : Race a Car . You can also gift the ride to a friend as a surprise for a bachelor party.
4. TAKE A HOT AIR BALLOON RIDE.
Take a flight in the hot air balloon and float over the strip as well as the red rock canyons with a champagne toast included . This is a breath taking experience amongst the clouds , the strip and canyons. You can make your bookings here : Hot Air Balloon Ride.
5. HEAD OUT ON A DESSERT RIDE.
Surrounded by the luxurious air conditioned and exorbitantly decorated casinos in Las Vegas , we often forget that we are in the middle of an intense dessert and an alien like landscape. Take advantage of this by venturing out of the strip with "dune buggy rides" or "mojave dessert experience".
So that is all I have for today's blog post. I Hope this article will serve as a "things to do in Vegas " and of course not very typical things. I will catch up again with another blog post.
The Chic Iconic
Yes , I am bouncing back soon this time , with yet another post. It has been quite some time I wrote an outfit post. If you are very frequent to this space , you already know that I have transformed my blog space into a complete lifestyle tips space where I can provide lots of substance and value with varied content. But predominantly this blog was started due to my interest in experimenting with personal style , I have decided to leave a flavor of my personal style every once in a while. So this time , since its fall and also "Diwali" ( Indian festival celebrated with Diya's ) , I have come up with 5 Indowestern looks from my very own label "Pastels & Pink by Shrithi".
Most of you guys keep asking me about how I keep it look like a fairy tale all the time ?. Because I do believe life is a fairy tale and you should enjoy it like one. All the designs on my label are inspired by fairy tales and I think every girl out there should be a princess. So let us dive into these 5 looks/outfits designed by myself for this festive/fall season.
1. Look 1 - Floral gown with wings.
The first outfit as you see in the pictures below is an adaptation of a fairy with wings , without a magic wand nonetheless. A simple flowy floral Organza outfit that perfectly fits the lights of this festive season.
2. Look 2 - A Butterfly top that can be paired with a variety
The look 2 is a simple pastel butterfly top , which is versatile enough to be paired with a number of bottoms. If you are not a fan of exorbitance , but would want to keep it unique , this top is your best choice.
Look 3 - A Statement Flora Gown.
Ever since I have started the label "Pastels & Pink by Shriti" , the "Flora " collection is the statement that is carried across in almost all of our designs. So for look 3 I chose a beautiful Flora (A ruffled statement Flower - name is inspired by flora and fauna ) gown with one shoulder. It gives that forest princess like essence and will never fail to grab some eyeballs and turn heads.
Look 4 - Festive Fall Yellow Cape
This look is one among the Fall color palette , that I didn't want to miss. Hence I chose this ruffled yellow cape outfit. A perfect fit , flare and color for this festival . You can pair it up dhoti pants or a cigarette pants to add more of a contemporary look.
5. Look 5 - Simply Flora & Pink dust
This final look is the most conspicuous one , due to its peculiar color and style. It is casually chic and festively fall at the same time drawing more attention to the authenticity and simplicity and the blending nature of the outfit. Once of the best selling indowestern patterns on the label. You will absolutely look like the pink dust sparkling around.
These are the 5 looks I wanted to talk about today and all these outfits are on 30% off this whole week. Grab them at "Pastels and Pink" ( Ping on Facebook or Instagram to buy the outfits). That is all for today guys. The Chic Iconic ......signing off.....see you all in another post soon.

Isn't it been sometime , I said Hi. Well I wanted to write this blog post long back providing all the details. Better late than never is what I thought. So like my every previous post , this post is much requested on my blog through DMs. So this was quite a simple idea executed in my apartment balcony , when we had to give up on the original surprise planning due to unpredictable weather on my husband's milestone birthday. My dad always use to say , " You should have a plan B in life". So this statement has come handy right from my childhood and I always gear up with Plan A and Plan B. " A Tee-Pee surprise in my balcony "(my husband's favorite place where we had grown some organic balcony produce , a little greenhouse of our own). I know it would be perfect. I always found pleasure in simple things done with so much love. So , yes , You can arrange romantic and private surprise for your husband right at your home. Here are the 5 aesthetics I have lined up for a perfect "Tee Pee surprise".
1. String Lights.
They definitely do add lot of aesthetic and romance to your special evening. I have used three different types of string lights for the evening. Bulb string lights colored to hang , Bulb string lights white for providing my TeePee a warm look and an array of string lights (around 200) to light up the whole space. They are definitely worth a try in any kind of surprise.

2. Candle Light.
How much ever the light we have , candle light, by itself is so whimsical and romantic. It brings an aura to the surrounds and lights up the pleasant mood keeping the faces glowing all the time. So do not forget to include them. Since lighting up too many candles with fire on a balcony made with wood was too risky , I have replaced them with battery equipped candles in a warm yellow glow , they worked perfect and served the purpose.

3. Teepee with perfect lighting.
For a decent sized teepee we would need enough wooden poles ( 2 inch in width), atleast five. I had added a sheer curtain as the teepee base. We both love surprises in white and definitely trust that it adds lot of fresh energy , hence I chose white and have added string lights. Tie the poles together alternatively draping the sheer base and add string lights. Tadaa - your TeePee is just ready.
Special tip : I have just spray painted two real pineapples in gold , since i was short of time to order decorative pineapples ( he loves pineapple & adds pineapple toppings in just about anything). I have placed them on the table along with a board which says something quirky about his milestone birthday.

4. Wine and Some Roses.
Yes , although this need not be said , I am telling it anyway. A little wine or champagne or even a kombucha - if you like non alcoholic drink can be really good. Sip and have a nice conversation , it just works like therapy. Ofcourse I have added a cake , I am a little against cutting cake all the time and wasting it all. Feels like we outgrew and I strongly resist the urge to buy one if we are not going to eat it at all. But since we have this favorite mango mousse cake from whole foods , which we would just finish within no time , I got that for him and we had almost all of it with our wine. Hence my purpose and principle were served.
5. Arrange a sitting area.
Yes , if you want to finish it off on a really satisfying note , then you should consider arranging a beautiful sitting area . So that you do not hurry after the surprise is done . And of course who would not want to end a surprise with a perfect date. I have used my pillows from chumbak and some air floats to sit and a fur pillow to add a relaxing factor (we both love to grab one whenever we sit and talk). I have just reversed my quilt for a monochromatic look for the floor, this is just an option.

Hoping that this post would give a little inspiration to plan surprises in very minimal resources. And you can plan small surprises all the time to lighten up and break that routine. You can write to me on firstname.lastname@example.org if you have questions or quires . I will catch you guys soon with another post. Until then , The Chic Iconic .... Signing off <3
Welcome back to my fairy tale world. Hope you guys had an ecstatic long weekend. I am updating my space with yet another blog post identifying with your requests on my Facebook/Instagram. This isn't something that you guys might not have explored before. But let me add my flavor of easy tips to "POSE FOR PICTURES". You get used to certain pattern with practice , but at the same time it might not be a daily to-do for most of you guys to pose for pictures , but when done occasionally you might want to master it. So follow me along while I walk you through.
But again these are not limitations or golden set of rules , you can always be yourself when you get photographed. Nothing beats the natural sense you.
Scroll Down To Read More........................................
1. OBSERVE YOUR FRAME (WHERE YOU ARE GETTING PHOTOGRAPHED)..
Look around you , observe where you stand. It gives your picture a character. If you are standing on a plain empty land with a water background or tall trees or just plain park , just feel the air. Get the natural vibe going and give a free pose and do not freeze. Let your Hands and legs free and going naturally. But if you are standing in front of a blocked background do not give a free pose. Instead play with your hands - you can slightly touch your hair with one hand or if you are carrying a hand bag hold it , hold it in an angle. Sometimes this helps in a slender picture output. Finally what I mean to say is react to your surroundings.
2. TWIST OR ANGLE YOUR BODY.....
A 45` degree angle. This is called the celebrity posture. Now twist your waist by pin pointing your toes. You need not do exactly as mentioned , but a simple twist adds really good definition to your picture. Sometimes we look more bulkier than we actually are in photographs , you can avoid that situation by practicing this simple tip. Because standing straight gives you a flat photograph adding you to the flat background. You can change the dynamics such images with a simple twist.
3. CROSS YOUR ANKLES...
This is a well known and pretty much in-use all the time tip. But this is by far the best posture for pictures. Crossing Your ankles is the best way to get a perfect picture in casual way. This makes your hips look narrower and elongates your legs. If you are sitting when getting photographed - sit up straight with 90 degree spinal cord and cross your ankles. You will look the perfect casual chic.
4. UNPOSE FOR A PERFECT POSE....
Sometimes posing too much can make it monotonous and unnatural. Be your casual self and play around. By that I mean just jump around. Hang on to something , just do not look at the camera or person behind it , be absolutely not conscious. Get your pictures clicked while walking , watching your favorite spots and enjoying the beauty. Unposing is the top trending posing. Makes your pictures look quite natural. Unfold you "be yourselves" side and see the magic happen. The art of unposing comes out by bringing your natural vibe out irrespective of the people and surrounds watching you.
5. 2/3 rds TURN FOR PORTRAITS AND HEADSHOTS...
If your are posing for portrait pictures or close ups use the trick called 2/3rd turn. Check the below images for reference. Instead of showing your straight shoulder line turn a little bit and face away from the camera. This positioning improves the appearance and entire portrait image itself. Use your hands. Play around by placing your arms closer to your face and away from your face. This helps provide a slimmer profile.
Alright dear girlies , I hope you thoroughly enjoyed today's post. I cant wait to hear some feedback from you guys. I will catch up with another interesting post very soon. Till then .........

Hello Guys. Welcome back to the blog again. I am glad that the previous post did so well and you guys loved it and felt it is helpful. Here is another practice that have inculcated in my life after lot of struggle , procrastination and carelessness. So today's post is about " How to unplug from technology ?". I only wish that this doesn't become a prominent question to ask self . It should have been a part of healthy habits naturally. If feels like the time is long gone where people thought that technology is just a part and something that is invented to make our lives easy and better.
The case with the current generation and technology is so serious that it started effecting their work and personal life so much so that the stress attached to it is causing extremely dreadful issues - social isolation , insomnia , depression , addictive behavior , personal life disruption etc. This is called a "selfie generation " where the average smartphone user checks their device 150 times a day. Doing more than one thing at a time sometimes makes you less productive and stupider , rather than increasing the efficiency. Studies also show that young adults who overuse technology and bury their face in a screen for the largest part of the time show similar brain patterns to those addicted to alcohol and cocaine.
So here are the 5 ways to unplug from technology on daily basis , leaving you to get most out of your work and your life.
Are you ready to unplug?
Scroll down (..........)
1. START YOUR DAY RIGHT...
There were days where you woke up , went straight to freshen-up , get your breakfast and start your day - those days are before the technology era took over human's life. Resurrect those days , Do not reach out for your phone/laptop immediately after you wake up . You are not supposed to start your day with a news/post/message that immediately creates an impact on you brain thus releasing stress hormones. Put the phone as far as you can when you go to sleep the before night. Immediately after you wake up , try to practice meditating , boost your brain with other alternatives. You will have a more productive and happier day.
2. RUN AN ACCOUNTABILITY SYSTEM.
If you are someone who constantly surfs on internet and feel like your time is being totally unmanageable , fill you day as such there is no spare time. And pack your after-work schedule with activities that nourish you so that there is very little time for online activities between work, dinner and sleep. Do stuff that helps you grow as a person , strong and confident personality being neutral to technology influence.
3. LET'S DO A DIGITAL DIET.
Just like you count our steps when you walk that help you drop pounds , why not start counting your technology time?. This is what I do - I keep 1/2 hour during my work break to surf , check mails ,messages , comments , posts etc. Once I am out of time , I shut down all apps and put the phone aside. If I go beyond my usual number of times I buried my face on screen , I count how many times I did that and take a note. The next day I try to reduce it by 10% and so on and so forth. Trust me , this helped.
4. BE MORE IN-THE-MOMENT.
One of the biggest costs we pay for our societies’ addiction to constant connection is that we are no longer living in the moment.
Enjoy your time in that moment , not through the lens , but bare eyes. Start writing and leaving notes at the dining table or freezer for your partner rather than texting him. Make small changes so that you reduce the intrusion of technology in your personal life. Make a strict WE-time with your partners, friends and family. You grow more as a healthy , lovable and productive person.
5. JUST SWITCH OFF (once in a while)...
The world is not going to end . Even though there are many tricks and apps to keep a check on the time we spend on technology , switching it off for some time and unplugging yourself from it is the best and more relaxing thing to do. Build a routine so that you are online for part of the day, and then strictly offline for the rest of the day, enjoying life, or focused on your work, or just relaxing. During this time , set some activity for yourself - workout , sports , groceries shopping etc (write down a list instead of putting it on phone notes). Go old school to go technology free.
ARE YOU READY TO UNPLUG?
You probably know, at some level, whether your use of technology is getting out of control and impacting on your quality of life. You miss out on simple moments that you should live with a full presence of mind. Unwind and unplug everyday from technology. practice it and notice how better life could become with a check point on intrusions like these.

Bonjour Ladies. How have you been doing so far? I have been strictly writing lifestyle , mental health and positivity posts , I have found this space is kind of sense of emergency for the kind of toxic lifestyle that we are heading to, for the kind of fast paced lifestyle the current generation is transitioning into , it is necessary that we manifest some of the old school habits and realize what we are missing to identify due to too much indulgence in social media. Not just social media for that matter , I would call it any kind of indulgence that can turn into an addiction. Any platform or medium or interface is made to help you learn new things and stop comparing , trying hard to mimic and feeling bad about what you do not have. Remember- "You are at your best , when you are yourself. By saying that I am trying to address a serious issue that some of my readers or followers wrote to me , about how some feel to have low self-esteem and self confidence about themselves when compared to a lot on social media.
There is a thing called mental diet which assimilates your character and your personality in a large scale.
So What is a mental diet?........
It is something you feed your mind with - Positive affirmations , books , meditation , positive conversations and thoughts. That is how you develop a positive attitude and a confident personality. So for those who work on computers a lot , G.I.G.O "Garbage in , Garbage out" , lets use it for the current purpose " Good in, Good Out". Try and eliminate all the negative thoughts that will hold you back and pull into past. Try ascending to become a complete positive person , this boosts your self esteem. Mental fitness is as much important as physical fitness. So below are the " 5 Key Practices that will help you build your self - confidence".
If I have to exaggerate build it to make it to the power of infinity , so that nothing or none can break it ever , how ever hard they try.
1. SELF - TALK POSITIVE AFFIRMATIONS.......
Speaking to yourself is the best and proven practice according to therapists. Speak positively to self and try to control your inner dialog. For example say things like these to self....
"I love my body"
"I can do this"
"I love my work space today"
"I am responsible"
Remember , we all have an inner voice that speaks constantly . Things that we do not want to say out loud , our inner voice speaks for it. So when we do that , make sure the inner voice speaks in a constructive and positive way. Your brain records what ever you speak to yourself. If you do not do it in a constructive way , your brain is by default wired to think about things that make you sad, unhappy , thus lowering your self esteem. So self -talk is like training your inner voice to talk things that only help you get over unnecessary baggage.
2. ANALYZING A POSITIVE ANGLE.......
This is something that might seem difficult or impossible or sometimes not so possible thing to do. But whenever you are in a situation , a discussion , an argument - the very first thing we do is to put our own perspective on table even if its welcomed or not. Now Consider this as a mathematical theorem. You have a statement and you analyze the proof of it step- by - step. Similarly when somebody says something , listen in quaint , observe and analyse the positive side of the statement ( which may be the other person's perspective) and you may not have to treat it negatively and provide your negation , Instead put what you feel in very positive words such that the other person also feels that you have a point. Then there can be a middle ground that can be taken. That way you feel more self - confident and your self respect can never be at stake since you tried to avoid a negative conversation all together.
3. ASSOCIATE WITH POSITIVE PEOPLE ........
The people you associate yourself with plays a major role in your success and it impacts your emotions in a broader angle. Decide to associate yourself with winners , positive and optimistic ones , who are climbing steps and reaching goals in their life. If you have somebody who is socially less active , but with abundance of logical , practical and positive sense in the group , do not ignore , because people who talk less at gatherings sometimes do so much in reality. That might be your sweet spot.
And then there is another decision you have to make. Avoid negative people at all cost. People who try to isolate , zone out , bully , create an event to let you down are by far the most insecure people and the primary source of unhappiness. Take a resolution for your self that you are going to have a stress free and negative people free life. Make up your mind and give your confidence a pat every time you do this. You become that self confident person who doesn't feed on and off on negativity.
4. PRACTICE GRATITUDE AND APPRECIATION......
Show your gratitude , feel extremely fortunate about all that you have and never feel disappointed about what you do not have. Because according to the most recent estimates, in 2013, 10.7 percent of the world's population lived on less than US$1.90 a day and yet I am sure some of them might be more happier than you are for different kind of reasons , for having a family or for having what they just have.
Appreciation - Now you can choose one of these things "Jealousy" or "Appreciation". When you have the heart of appreciating any beautiful thing you see ( a beautiful face, a beautiful dress or anything around you that is beautiful ) the first thought that should strike is to appreciate and not feel jealous and not spread toxic behavior. Now remember, true friends always appreciate and confront , I made it a practice till date to say it out loud if I see something beautiful , I would let that person know and appreciate about how I loved. You feed your mind with jealousy , you get a lot of negativity thus lowering your self confidence. Turning toxic with extreme jealousy is a manifestation of insecurities you have. It harms your self esteem and self - confidence. Do not let that happen. Love what have and appreciate what others have.
5. CONSTANTLY NURTURE POSITIVE BODY HEALTH......
Your body is the strongest form of self confidence you can ever have. Nurture it constantly by eating healthy and by regularly exercising. Your body should hold no toxins that can work as a catalyst for your stressful life. Make sure you flush them out with consistent work out routines. A person who exercises regularly feels more self-confident than a person who sits and watches television all evening.
Vince Lombardi once said, “Fatigue makes cowards of us all.”
Most of our negative emotions are due to poor health habits, insomnia , long working hours etc. Try to seek balance in life.
