Being from southern part of India I always struck to my roots and celebrated all the south Indian Festivals . This post is all about few edits on the festive looks. I had so much time to introspect and figure out on working on something that reflects my tradition. This Diwali I wanted to light up my look through my favorite colors. I have curated 4 looks for the evening of celebration. Look1 : Black with Pastel..... I am a fan of pastels and this outfit from my label is the perfect justice to my taste for the day. Maang tika is my all time favorite , for that matter any head accessory is on my favorite list. This is a very simple yet very catchy look for any festival. Look2 : Black with pink pop..... Pink pop always brightens up any dark base. This minimal tie and die pink pop cape is my addition for the look 2. I kept jewelry constant for the look. Look3: Quirky Prints with Solids and an off shoulder.... The elephant printed off shoulder crop top and a solid neon red is my simplest of choices. I chose oxidized jewelry with a pink and orange hints on them. I loved to keep it minimal on the makeup hair and jewelry to avoid any overhead. Look4: Floral slit top and a base skirt... For look 4 I have chosen florals inspired by the fall season , matching it with a red skirt for the base and a marsala lipstick. "The Chic Iconic" is wishing you a very Happy and safe diwali. The Patapsco Valley State Park in Baltimore , Maryland is the next of the "Best photography Locations in Virginia, Maryland , Washington DC series "of this month. "Not all who wander are lost". A photographer can turn any location into a beautiful frame with his art of capturing. But some locations capture your heart , mind and soul in an exuberating way that you feel numb and frozen with a single sight of it. And the cloudy state of mind fades away creating a fresh path for you to walk into and all your worries rest in peace. It is not an exaggeration to say this place is not just a state park but a medicine to your heart that pumps up a pure emotion and helps you feel the originality of nature. Of course there are more scenic locations all over our states , but l do not want to gauge and enjoy what I have around. Nature is very beautiful as it is always by itself. Raw, shady, poetic ,fierce and intriguing. Nature can bring in emotion-evoking portraits. It can be the greatest of inspirations to an artist. When a dusty trial lead to this fictitious sound of pour , crisp chirping in the air and a breeze of mud scent , we as a team felt like the explorers who discovered the hidden beauty in the midst of hustle and bustle. It is somehow is the Euclid space for me since I was 5 miles away from this beauty all this while . We bloggers get very specific about locations , properties , lighting , costumes and many other parameters that decide the independence of expression. But today we as a team have decided to write about some beautiful locations that can be seen , felt , captured and can never be forgotten , not anywhere but quite very local to Maryland.
In this post we are featuring the Cascade Falls , Baltimore. It is a 0.56 mile hike to the hill and the one that you will never regret. For all those who are in constant search for their pre-wed , post wed and portrait shoot locations, Cascade falls is one of the locations to visit. The golden light that impinges from the narrowest of the spaces in between a surreal greenery and that water that perfectly reflects the light in a subtle way, the fall of the water that is not too high to worry about adds the perfect background as well as foreground to any picture taken. If you are local to Baltimore or Washington dc or Virginia , check this place out for shoots or even for a refreshing hike. Keep your eyes glued to the blog as I will get back with another photography location. Love all.... But when I want to chose the best I always shift to Italian Cuisines. Especially the ones that has home made menu items and quite customized platters to choose. The exploration has lead in discovering this beautiful Italian restaurant "La Panetteria " , situated in Bethesda , Maryland. Serves the finest southern and northern Italian specialty foods. "La Panetteria" has won accolades from many food- critics and awarded the "Premier Italian Restaurant" in Bethesda , MD. This restaurant has been around for 25 years and has an impressive record in the Dining Industry. Now when it comes to the personal experience , the appearance and the interiors inspired me to learn more about it. The management made sure they give a complete Italian experience to its customers making sure there is an italian aroma in the ambiance. To start with the menu - the wines on the cards exponentially increase the pleasure of dining in this restaurant. I always start with coffee in Italian cusines , since I love to check out if there is any difference in the way they brew there coffee , quite surprisingly it is always the best , not too harsh , not too soft. I love my coffee like that. Then comes the bread , this restaurant has the finest and fresh bread - soft in texture and superb in its taste. Below mentioned menu items are the ones in our order : Antipasti ( Appetizer): 1. Mozzarella in Carrozza. 2. Zucchini Fritti. Zuppe (Soup): 1. Minestrone Alla Casalinga. (Fresh Homemade Italian Thick Vegetable Soup). Pizza: 1. Chicken and Fresh Tomato Pizza ( SM or LA). 2. Margherita. The food experience and the service here is impeccable. The roof turned into a green paradise will give a pleasant dining experience. Even though this place looks small from outside , It can easily accommodate 200 customers during busy days. They have party services and catering services as a part of the business. Thanks to the team of "La Panetteria" in participating in this shoot and helping us make a beautiful memory. We would rate it 4 out of 5 stars. Let us catch up with another interesting topic next month....... Outfit by : Pastels & Pink by Shrithi (www.facebook.com/PastelsnPink/)....
Your day is precious and you can make it one with a beautiful and healthy start. Never skip your breakfast that keeps your body in rhythm for the rest of the day. Breakfast replenishes the supply of glucose in the morning and breaks the overnight fasting . Provides blood sugar levels in proper proportions to make your brain work its best. I have learnt it hard way , but I am loving how I left my old and unhealthy habits behind to keep my body well equipped with essential nutrients. By breakfast , we know - not every day we have time and energy to get the breakfast done at home. We ran past so many breakfast places , drive thrus and food chains. Yet we are always on a hunt for the best places to get tasty , fancy , nutritious breakfast. "Eggspection" is one such food chain which serves from breakfast to lunch to dinner. They call it “le cirque des œufs,” an all-day experience. This is not our first time , hence the fascination for the place. It was , is and always an amazing experience for us to catch up with this place and add delight to our morning experience. It is'nt a justice to talk just about the food here , but this place has amazing interiors , which makes it feel like the breakfast is served under the twilight with some rustic properties. Now to talk about food , our all time favorite menu items are: Drinks: Him : Guiltless green Her: Cafe Moka Nero. EggSpecialities: Him : Eggsilaration Her: Southwest Sunshine Crepes for sweet tooth: Him : Chocolate Banana Crepe Her: Strawberry Blonde Crepe Here is the link to the menu : http://eggspectation.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/Ellicott-City-Menu-2015.pdf Eggspectation is not in many parts of United States , But surprisingly six of its chains are located only in our trisate - Virginia , Maryland and Washington dc. 1. Chantilly, Va. 2 Ellicot City, Md. 3. Silver Spring , Md. (closer to DC). 4. Owing Mills , Md. 5. Ganesville , Va. 6. Leesburg , Va. All of the above listed places have beautiful breakfast , surrounded with beautiful interiors. And interesting part is the staff in this food chain . There treat every customer with so much warmth , that is all anybody would need to quick start a day in smiles. Hospitality is their first priority. Finally "Eggspectation is not a breakfast or lunch or dinner , it is a remarkable experience". Thank you staff of "Eggspectation Ellicot City" for making us comfortable today while covering everything. We personally as exploring couple would rate it 5 on 5 starts. So guys if you are local to the Virginia , Maryland or Washington DC , next time when you think of hopping into ihop or Mc D for your breakfast do not forget to give Eggspectation a thought. Ok...... Like the name says itself , Today's exploration point is "Stone Tower Winery ". Getting to the part2 of the Winery project - We traveled from Maryland to Leesburg , Virginia. One of the best wineries to visit in the circumference of Tristate. Holding the history of around fourty years and located on Hog back Mountain in Leesburg , Virginia is a delight and visual treat. This 60 acre Vineyaerd is surrounded by farms, cattle and horse stables. The layout and landscaping here attracts most of the tourists and local crowd . Since the winery being a kid friendly and pet friendly place to be , it would serve one of the best weekend getaways for families with kids and pets . Getting into few details: Things You can do at the Winery: 1. Family gatherings. 2. Birthday Parties. 3. Office Dayouts and team hangouts. 4. Wedding Party. 5. Reception . 6. Engagement Party. 7. Yoga at the vineyard. 6. Polo matches. They have quite very photogenic and photofriendly corners for the wedding photoshoots and couple shoots. The Wine Tasting: 1. 6 white varietals. 2. 6 Red varietals. 3. Wine tasting cost is 12$ per head. 4. All the wines here are dry wines. ( Not for sweet wine lovers.) 5. White wine Favourite : Chardonnay. 6. Red Wine Favourite : Cabernet Sauvignon. This place serves some of the best wines , But since I am not a fan of dry wines I enjoyed the wine tasting at Boordy vineyards rather than at Stone Tower. The interiors of the winery are as much praise worthy as the exteriors are. Find in the pictures below , Two separate blocks available for wine tasting - One predominantly for tasting and the other one serves both as a tasting counter as well as a dine in. Most of the weddings are arranged towards the right most side of the vineyards and guest rooms available for the bride and groom. Attending a wedding or getting wedded at the scenic beauty would be a beautiful experience. End of July Monthly Edition........ Let us catch up on August Issue........... Until then you guys have a blast of Life... Disclaimer ( Photographs cannot be copied and used without Consent . All Copy Rights belong to The Chic Iconic.)
Welcome to the Monthly series of The Chic Iconic......We chose to write about beautiful vineyards in the Tri-state - Virginia, Maryland and Washington DC Today..Since we are taking up unique projects each month , You guys will be seeing posts about one topic the whole month..... So Today I am writing about "Boordy Vineyards" which is located in Hydes , Maryland , 8 miles north east of Baltimore Beltway (I- 695) and also would be a thirty minute drive from Baltimore downtown. The Boordy Vineyards is 72 years old and serves two variety of wine types: 1. Chesapeake Icon Tasting : includes eight samples of iconic chesapeake wines with a price of 8 $. 2. Landmark Tasting: includes 8 samples of boordy's landmark series with a price f 15 $. Since you guys get lots of info on the Boordy's website , I will be writing about some points to note before you visit Boordy vineyards. Most of us need a weekend get away from the busy 9-5 life we spend at our desks on weekdays. So why choose Vineyards on some weekends? Here is why , I felt it is an apt choice sometimes. Not because I am a pro in wine tasting , but because I am a nature lover and green gives me peace. Things you need to know about Boordy Vineyards: 1. Boordy Vineyards do not serve a venue for weddings , wedding receptions , underage birthday parties or engagement parties. 2. There are four party rooms available : St Vincent Room , The Wine Cellar , The Barn , The Barn & Wine Cellar. 3. Like any other winery they have tours at timings. 4. Its a kid friendly vineyard and serves as a picnic spot. 5. Outside food is not allowed in the party rooms but can be taken to tables outside. 6. Live music is a part of boordy's culture. This vineyard has got my eyes stick with its interiors rather than exteriors. Since its is located a little towards the country side , it provides an opportunity for its local farmers to sell their fresh produce in the premises. What tastes better than something right of the produce gardens. We had tons of fresh berries. It also has a grill with fresh burgers and pizza. So we picked this winery for its complete package of weekend entertainment with wine glass , live music , barn tour , picnic tables, fresh produce and finally some "cupples" tea tasting. It is a local tea brand , they exhibit and provide tea tasting in various places. I loved their raspberry tea. Check them out as well on Instagram @cupples_tea. Stay tuned for the part -2 of the winery project............! Out fit : Sheinofficial Bag : Yves Saint Laurent
I am going to etch down about this nature's beauty today - Big Sur. This close to 100 mile stretch of coast road that hugs the pacific ocean on one side and mountains on the other side is quaint and never disappoints the tourists. Big Sur is most commonly visited on a road trip from Los Angeles to San Francisco. Its a 3.5 hour detour on the Los Angeles to San Francisco Highway. Highway 1 it is called. The undeniably gorgeous views fills you in with so much relaxation and rejuvenation. It is a treat to the eye of Nature lovers. We were on a road trip and Big Sur is always on my bucket list , so we had to top it this time. The Complete journey to Big Sur is a living dream with a scenic beauty. It just makes you pull off the road multiple times to capture the beauty of so many hidden coves. The Vista points do complete justice to your photographs and be very careful as there are many steep edges at the vista points. Make sure you wear comfortable foot wear. It also has beautiful camp grounds if you plan on one. Check below for more information on Big Sur. Three Things you do not know about Big Sur: 1. There is no cell phone service for around 19 miles mountain stretch and you might have to get to the town to connect to wifi. 2. The real Big Sur starts in Carmel and ends at Hearst Castle (try making a stop at these two places). 3. It has quite very high prices especially the food and gas.(Do rent a car and start early to visit the places to avoid the crowd). Three must visit places in Big Sur: 1. The purple sand beach. 2. The famous and photographer's favourite Big Sur Bixby Bidge. 3. The Hot Springs. Three best hotels to stay in Big Sur: 1. Fernwood Resorts and Campgrounds. (best Food Tavern ). 2. Glenn oaks Big Sur. Best romantic resort for couples. 3. Treebones Resort. This place is heaven and must be booked very well in advance. Three best Food Places in Big Sur: 1. Fernwood tavern. Moderately priced and no reservation required and food is amazing here. 2. Big Sur Bakery and Restaurant. Though the prices are on the higher side. 3. Nepenthe. The famous restaurant of the town. Three tips and tricks before you pack to Big Sur: 1. Buy a map to avoid any confusion with the routes since we lack the cell phone signals or load your google maps with via points for multiple pit stops when you have wifi. 2. Get yourselves prepared with all types of weather conditions because California is unpredictable and can be cold and windy at any time. 3. Have some cash handy for small tuck shops and to enter state parks . Dress @ : www.loft.com.

This summer's plan is to revamp with all the new collection at my label "Pastels and Pink". Starting april we have introduced a new range of collection naming it "M & Ms". Colors and tones take center stage. I am starting off with introducing these two candy colors from our new collection . Flush Pink and torquoise was my first choice , the light up is so unusual and indescribable. I have just chose to be quick and simple pairing it up with a black legging and a printed stelettos. Keeping these tops independant and swirling to its freedom. I have added an aldo pastel blue clutch for some color blocking and definition. These attires are warm and bright at the same time catching everyone's eye. Attention seekers I would call them. You can use them for multioccasion and experiment paring them up with different combinations. Give yourself a surprise and a boost owning these colors. I hope you guys enjoyed this post and I will be working on few more ideas and concepts to bring in more content and value keeping in mind this splendid season. Until next time enjoy everday dressing up classy and confident. 😘 see you guys in the next post. Buy the looks at:
