Having a Bad Day at work , having a bad fight or having a disappointment when least expected can be very overpowering on us. Sometimes it might feel like everything is falling apart and we sink deeper into frustrations. At times like these it is important to put a check on how you are feeling and how you are handling them. Negative thoughts stay long and interfere with our priorities , health and routine. Below are some life hacks to help you avoid getting into that never ending negative arena. Keep reminding these 5 things on a daily basis to travel better through the negativity that surfaces in everyday life.
1. Identify What Truly Matters.
An unexpected change of plans may not kill you. Your clogged sink is not the end of the world. Your colleague , manager or a friend not smiling back or not answering your calls is not going to affect you. Next time you scratch your head over these petty things , remember that these things do not matter. Ask yourself about what really matters.
2. You Cannot Control Certain Events.
Now you cannot control a climatic change or a government shutdown. Realize this point , we cannot control many things and people in our lives. You just have to stop pushing and let it go for the betterment of everything.
3. You Are enough.
I am not tall enough , I am not pretty enough or I am not smart enough or strong enough. These words are really bad for what you feed your mind with. Say 'You are enough'. And stop limiting your beliefs about yourself.
4. Your Worse Feelings Have An Expiry Date .
Whatever the terrible feeling that you currently have will die down and in the later part of your life , it would not matter to you. You will hurt people and other people will hurt you. Remember that human beings are imperfect. But do not ignore your feelings , process through them completely and remind yourself that your feelings will not kill you and it is going to be ok.
5. Everything Is A Phase.
When you are in difficult times , always say this to yourself " Everything is a phase and it will pass". Remember the Shakespeare 's poem that - All the world's a Stage and All the men and women are merely players. Our life is like a movie , phase after phase & scene after scene. And it will not stay stagnant at one point , because we travel with time and time is not a constant and so is our difficulty.
